A quote that stood out to me was the ending quote of the book " Monster " by Walter Dean Myers was the last two sentences of the book " When Miss O'Brien looked at me , after we had won the case , what did she see that caused her to turn her away ? What did she see ? This quote stand s out to , me in many different ways , at first reading this I was confused because Miss O'Brien was the one that help Steven win the case , and told him how she believed that he could become a changed man and get his life together . After reading this quote numerous times I went back into the book to specifically find parts where Miss O'Brien attempting to help Steve and believing that he wasn't guilty . This was key because without O'Brien Steve wouldn't have gotten out of jail , this is mainly because know one was there [ In Jail ] to push Steve mentally and physically to prepare for the time he has if he does get out , but also how to deal with staying in jail . Now let's get to why this quote is meaningful . It is because at the beginning Miss O'Brien was there for Steven mostly when he needed someone the most . This quote has ultimately taught me that you can't live life as a Cinderella story it's real life and nothing is promised as well as the fact that nothing last forever . This has made me understand life more as a whole and noticed that " It's a hard nock life , " as Annie says .
